When looking back on my experiences, the effort I put into my work, and the accomplishments resulting from my effort, one question comes to mind: what does it all mean?
If something is meaningful, than it has value. Value is a quality considered worthwhile or desirable. The quality and quantity of effort embedded in work create value and meaning.
I've played competitve golf for 14 years because I value the endless pursuit of perfection in practice. Also, I value pitting my skills against everyone else.
I've been receiving an education for 18 years because I value knowing how the world works around me.
I've played guitar for 3 years because I value the dynamic, creative ablility the guitar offers.
I find satisfaction in all that I've worked at. I work hard at the things I do because I know when I'm done I will be wiser. I value personal success. Working means I have created the potential to succeed.
